Every Student’s Story Matters: Implementing Trauma-informed Approaches in Schools
Childhood trauma can have a direct, immediate, and potentially overwhelming impact on the ability of a child to learn. Yet, this issue has largely been ignored by our education system. Trauma informed approaches equips educators to begin to understand the role of trauma, its effect on children and learning, and how educators can change methods of interacting and responding to children impacted by trauma.

Critical SEL and Behavior Modification Techniques for Classified Staff
Classified positions are needed for the school to run smoothly. Maintenance and custodial, cafeteria, transportation, health providers, clerical positions and classroom aids are all essential to the school. Students often know the classified staff by name and look forward to the friendly faces that greet them each day on the bus, in the cafeteria line, and in the hallways. Critical SEL and Behavior Techniques trains classified staff on ways to be responsive to student needs that decreases undesirable behaviors and helps students form healthy attachments and relationships with adults in the school setting.

Restorative Practices
A useful tool to have in the bag is ‘restorative practices’, called ‘RP’ for short. RP is a method of conflict resolution and prevention used successfully across the world in schools, youth clubs, community centers, and now in in homes!
RP is a way to nurture healthy relationships, improve communication, and build stronger families and communities. It encourages people to take responsibility for their behavior and to develop empathy for those around them.
This course is offered to service providers, government agencies, and community-based organizations as well as the clients they serve.
